Sorry it has taken me longer than the expected time to get this recipe up but it is worth the wait I PROMISE!

I know that blue cheese is not everyone’s cup of tea BUT I love every type of cheese, especially  blue cheese…the smellier the better LOL 🙂 this bread was an experimentation that worked a treat! The hubby and my brother loved it too – SCORE!

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cups gluten-free white flour (I use doves farm)
• 1 cup gluten-free oats (I used red mill)
• 1 tsp baking soda (bicarbonate of soda)
• 2oz / 50g blue cheese (I used a stilton but you can use danish blue or any other preferred  type) roughly chopped / crumbed
• 1/2 cup walnut halves – roughly chopped
• Few thyme leaves
• 1 1/2 cups (375ml) buttermilk

1. Pre-heat oven to 180F / 350C and grease a 2lb bread loaf tin

Things within your domestic life will come to a head right now – anything you have not been handling from a leaky roof to a mother-in-law with a health issue will demand your attention.  You may have to do a simple reshuffling of priorities or perhaps even a more extensive rearranging of household affairs.  Repairs to your home or a family member who has to move in may mean changes not only domestically, but also financially.

Your energy will be somewhat lower at the end of the month – Leos do need the sun, and January in the Northern Hemisphere is tougher for you Leos than for most.  Make the most of any sun available and get out in it whenever you can.  If need be use a sun lamp and do take lots of Vitamin D and Vitamin C.

This is a good month for a capital purchase or some long-term business investment in a new area.  Even if you run a small business, you may want to invest in either new skills or new equipment so that you can expand into a slightly different field.

Try not to get bogged down or preoccupied with unnecessary detail, you need to keep things flowing, and you may have to decide that certain elements must be glossed over so that the overall progress is not jeopardized.  Prioritizing can mean difficult decisions this month, and you will find these tricky to make – you must act swiftly and decisively and not look back.  Make your mind up and go with it.

Business organization is very much a talent of Cancer, and this month you can use that talent to reshape your own business or the company you work for.  It may take a while for your ideas to gain acceptance, but that should not put you off, you must be persistent and not afraid to voice your ideas.

A strict adherence to a principle or a rule may actually hold you back in your work – be more flexible and cast aside ways of doing things that do not hold up in the current situation.

Do be careful of emails and communications you send out within work and social media – remember once it’s out there you cannot ever erase it.

A very hectic and even chaotic start to the New Year.  Your first priority is to get your finances in order, or you could be in for a nasty surprise mid-month.  Do not put anything off, and make sure that anything contractual is tied up before the 22^nd of Jan when Mercury turns retrograde.  This is not a month to mix friendship with money: do not borrow or lend to a friend as it will become very complicated and create stressful bother.

You may find that your friendship circle and the events that are part of that i.e. weddings, christenings, baby showers, parties, etc. are beyond your budget this month, and that may cause you a dilemma – remember that sometimes a small, personalized gift that did not cost much means more that some standardized item, even if it was expensive.

In January, you are feeling highly restless and you are looking to squeeze out of commitments that you feel take too much of your time and effort, and which give little back; you may have been roped into PTAs, a focus group, a treasurer position or something of that nature.  You are now ready to throw the towel in, and it is not about being a quitter, it is about streamlining your life and your routine and getting out of what is not essential.

QVC is the motto as you start this New Year, and I am not talking about the shopping channel – everything in your life must pass the QVC test, i.e. Quality, Value added and Contentment.  Make quality use of your time, be sure what you do adds value to your life and creates contentment.  If activities this month are stressful and confusing, drop them, don’t go there, it isn’t worth it.

I was provided with a free copy of this book so I could give an honest review. When I started the book, I was thinking where is this going, maybe I picked the wrong book. After a few pages, ooh my! I couldn’t stop reading. After 3:30 in the night. I finished and I have to say, it is one of the better books I’ve read. The author is now on list of must read.

This is one of those stories where the author lets you know early on who the villain is, and that’s not a bad thing, because the story is more about discovery and burden of proof. The main character, Gabrielle, is forced into a position where she knows who the villain is, but also knows she can’t go to the police immediately because he’s a powerful and wealthy man, with an even more powerful father, leaving Gabrielle with the simple knowledge that if she didn’t present irrefutable proof to the authorities, the villain would easily weasel his way out of justice using his money and status. Another thing I enjoyed about this novel was the twists and turns, you feel like you’ve got the story down and suddenly the author makes a sharp turn and blam, the game is on all over again, I enjoyed that, it kept me guessing until the very end.

Although Gabrielle is clearly a flawed character, she discovers more about herself and what is really important in life as the story goes forward. Some of Gaby’s personality traits are a bit annoying, but I think they’re integral in portraying who she was at the beginning of the book versus who she is at the end. She’s imperfect on many levels, something I think we can all relate too to some degree…

I was provided with a free copy of this book so I could give an honest review. I enjoyed the book immensely. It was fast paced and exciting with several unexpected twists and turns. As an American, I did have a little trouble with some of the colloquial references and some of the ideology of the pop culture in England. However, that did not impede my enjoyment of the story. If you like great characters with realistic dialogue, this is the book for you.

I almost gave up but about a quarter of the way through it, the story started coming together. After that breakthrough, I could hardly put it down. The British colloquium was hard to follow but the book had sucked me in and I was determined to finish even if I didn’t quite understand what the phrases meant. Over all, a good book with lots of twists and turns the reader won’t foresee. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars but that option is not available.
