“So I was interested in alternative medicines for pets and whether they might work where the regular treatments have failed. This book by Jackie Gee was just what I wanted. The author explains the various ailments for which alternative medicines could actually work better than traditional treatments. She explains very precisely how herbs can be used for pet allergies, for example.
The author goes into detail about the various alternative treatments such as Homeopathic medicines for pets. She talks about the right diet for your pet – what to give it and what to avoid. I found the chapter on controlling fleas and ticks important as well. The book is full of quality information like that. Good job “ RANGER.
“ I’ve been rally impressed with this new and intriguing methods for taking care of our pets. So many ailments that they have usually have official remedies that have many harmful side effects, so I’ve been really interested in what this book had to say. Definitely interesting to consider and I am going to try some of them for my yellow lab in the future. Truly helpful and well collected alternative treatments for our pets. Well worth the read. “ Hailey R
“ I have 4 pets, 3 cats and a doggie and this guide has been really helpful for learning how to keep my pets in top shape. I was amazed to see that there are so many alternative and safe remedies for common problems that pets are dealing with. Definitely helpful and there were quite a few that I may treat my pets with in the near future. So useful and full of well researched information. Highly recommended.” Liz A
Ever wonder what happened to those stories filled with suspense with twists and turns? You know the kind that Alfred Hitchcock produced, making us bite our nails and worry for the hero or heroine! Well Lisa Gordon has penned that type of thriller and it’s worth reading. Her heroine, Gaby thought she was leading an ideal life. She was a rising star in her legal firm and just married a handsome man. Then the nightmares started plaguing her and memories of a childhood trauma erupted. To save her sanity Gaby must delve into the secrets of a serial killer and risk her own life to bring him to justice. Dianne Rapp
Absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with the characters & the story line..I couldn’t wait to see what was gonna happen next. The characters are so real you seemed to really connect with them. I found myself feeling the sadness, frustration, & triumph with them. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I can’t wait to read more…Waiting very impatiently for her next book. Jennifer’s Bookk Review
The story had its glowing moments and yes, the villain was extremely creepy, in fact, I think the villain was actually my favorite character in this book. He was smarter than everyone, and went for a very long time doing whatever he pleased without anyone being the wiser. If it wasn’t for Gaby’s slip under peer pressure to smoke a joint he may never have been found out. I felt he controlled the entire story. Tina Marie Says
I was happy to receive this book for an honest review. It certainly proved to be a good read. This excellent reads starts you out with a bang as you experience the killing of a young teen, but why? What does this have to do with the rest of the story? Ah! Our author draws you in with the ‘I have to find out,’ trick. It’s been a while since I have read a book that takes you around so many curves in the story and yet at the end ties all the notes into one bow. This one does. Shirley Johnson Amazon Top 100 Reviewer
Matron only gives five starts when they are deserved. This tale does. Why:
Oh it isn’t literary genius. And the writing is simple. And the characters obvious. And some of the scenes are utterly chick-lit but for all that it’s what we buy books for : a riveting read and you can’t put it down. So few books do that now. Books don’t have to be clever.
So, young boy gets kick out of killing girl. Years later a series of murders all come together. And you realise his family are involved. And there’s a race to stop him, of course.
Just a good book. No more. What it says on the packet and we don’t always get. I’ll buy Lisa again. London Matron
What do you do if you discover that someone very close to you is a killer? That’s what this book is all about. Lisa describes the doubts, the conflicts of emotion and the raw feelings of reality as the story unfolds. The protagonist, Gaby, and her friends come across with consummate reality, and before the end of the book, you come to know them very well. Lisa has either travelled widely, or really knows how to use Google Earth. No matter, the descriptions of the many international venues come across vividly, and you feel yourself transported to each of them. I think I would have given this book a five star rating were it not for the number of typos. It is only because of that that I have awarded four stars.
FAST PACED PAGE TURNER
It says a lot when you read a new book by a new-to-you author, and immediately start searching for what else she has written.
Next Of Sin is a fast paced, well written page turner. Beautifully structured in as much as you start off witnessing a murder from the point of view of the murderer, without knowing which character’s head you are inside. This is slowly revealed along with the trail of destruction this character has left behind him. And is done in such a way that the book is full of the type of surprises that make perfect sense as soon as they are revealed, even though you didn’t see them coming.
The author cleverly weaves the different aspects of the story together, throwing in lots of twists and turns and plenty of nail biting conflict. The main female characters are feisty and likable, though as someone recently said to me about ‘Game of Thrones’, don’t get too attached to any of the characters. You really don’t know who will still be alive on the last page.
A great read and one I’d recommend to anyone who likes crime fiction, thrillers or just well-written, edge-of-your-seat drama.
